BOSSIER CITY, La. – The Bossier City Fire Department (BCFD) is diligently working to combat a fire that inflicted damage upon five businesses situated along the 2200 block of Benton Road.

BCFD promptly responded at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday following reports of heavy smoke and raging flames. The fire originated at the Benton Road Auto Repair shop and subsequently spread to four neighboring businesses, including a salon, grooming shop, pest exterminator, and an Allstate Insurance Agency.

Regrettably, all these businesses have sustained substantial damage or, in some cases, total loss.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported up to this point. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Motorists are advised to steer clear of the area as all lanes of Benton Road between Melrose Drive and Citizens Bank Drive have been temporarily blocked.
