TEXARKANA, Texas – The Third Annual Tough Kookie Breast Cancer Race shone a spotlight on breast cancer awareness on Saturday, hosted on the campus of Texas A&M in Texarkana.
The event commenced with a survivor’s breakfast generously sponsored by Cracker Barrel, and Starbucks provided the coffee for the occasion.
Katina R. Levington, the event’s founder, expressed, ‘This marks our Third Annual Tough Kookie Race. To date, we have over 1,400 pre-registered participants.’
In addition, some individuals registered on the day of the event, swelling the number of participants to approximately 1,521.’
Levingston disclosed that they set up a ‘Love Wall’ where participants could congregate and share photos and names of loved ones they miss, who were impacted by breast cancer.
Participants donned pink attire to make themselves easily identifiable across the campus.
The event underscored the importance of early detection in breast cancer treatment, offering patients greater prospects of becoming cancer-free.
