Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash Claims Lives of Two Teens in Stonewall

    Stonewall, La. – In the early hours of Friday morning, a single-vehicle crash on Rambin Road resulted in the loss of two young lives, while two others suffered serious injuries.

    Shortly after 5 a.m., the Louisiana State Police were called to respond to this tragic incident. The accident claimed the lives of Peyton Plunkett, aged 18, and Seth Battlefield, also 18.

    According to the preliminary investigation, Plunkett was traveling east on Rambin Road when, for reasons yet to be determined, he crossed the centerline, veered off the road, and collided with a tree.

    Both Plunkett and Battlefield were rushed to a local hospital following the crash; however, they succumbed to their injuries.

    Two additional teenagers who were in the vehicle at the time of the accident sustained severe injuries and were likewise transported to a local medical facility. It’s been reported that none of the teenagers were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.

    Routine toxicology samples have been collected and will be submitted for analysis as part of the ongoing investigation into this devastating incident.

    The authorities are continuing to investigate the details of the accident in order to gain a better understanding of the events that transpired.
