RINGGOLD, La. – A horrifying turn of events unfolded in the quiet rural community of Ringgold in Bienville Parish, resulting in the arrest of the owners of a pack of aggressive dogs. Sheriff John Ballance of Bienville Parish revealed that one of two separate dog attacks that occurred in late September took a fatal turn. The startling discovery of human remains in a wooded area in Ringgold on Friday night has brought forth this disturbing revelation.

Sheriff’s investigators believe the body had been there since Sept. 26 after being moved from where the man reportedly was killed on Pine Street. The body is pending a forensic autopsy, but enough information was found at the scene to say it’s Donovan Brooks, 40, Ballance said.

And that development in the investigation was enough for Bienville sheriff’s investigators to get arrest warrants Tuesday morning for four people who are charged in connection with Brooks’ death.
