Arkansas Man Arrested for Attempted Attack on Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina

In a startling incident, an Arkansas man has been apprehended for his alleged attempt to ram his vehicle into the Oconee Nuclear Station in South Carolina, as confirmed by officials.

Doyle Wayne Whisenhunt, a 66-year-old resident of Lockesburg, Arkansas, was taken into custody by officers from the Pickens County Sheriff’s Office on Friday. He was discovered in an abandoned residence and subsequently transferred to the Oconee County Detention Center, where he was officially booked into custody, according to a statement from the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office.

Whisenhunt now faces a slew of charges, including attempted murder, malicious injury to personal property, and trespassing, all stemming from the aforementioned incident.

As per an arrest warrant, Whisenhunt allegedly accelerated his 2002 Toyota Camry in the direction of a security officer at the nuclear plant on Thursday evening, with the apparent intent of causing “great bodily harm or death.”
