Tragedy Strikes Orleans Square: Kenmorria Kendrick Remembered After Fatal Shooting

SHREVEPORT, Louisiana. – The community of Shreveport is grappling with sorrow as Shreveport Police launch an investigation into a fatal shooting at Orleans Square Apartments in the South Broadmoor neighborhood. The victim has been identified as 28-year-old Kenmorria Kendrick, whose life was tragically cut short.

On the early morning of November 12, at 1:42 a.m., the Shreveport Police Department (SPD) responded to a report of shots fired on Chalmette Drive, near the intersection of East Kings Highway and Jackson Square Boulevard within the premises of Orleans Square Apartments. The initial call was later escalated to a shooting incident, as documented in 911 records.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers discovered Kenmorria Kendrick with gunshot injuries to his upper torso. The Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office confirmed Kendrick’s identity and has ordered an autopsy to further investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.

Despite being swiftly transported to a local hospital, Kendrick succumbed to his injuries a few hours later. His tragic passing marks the 73rd homicide in Caddo Parish for the year, with 68 of these incidents occurring in Shreveport.

As of now, no suspect information has been released, and the Shreveport Police Department is actively investigating the incident. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
