Revised Garbage Collection Dates and Landfill Hours for Thanksgiving 2023 Announced


SHREVEPORT, Louisiana – Residents should note important changes to the garbage collection schedule and landfill operations due to the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 23, 2023, and Friday, November 24, 2023. These adjustments are made to accommodate the holiday period.

The revised garbage collection schedule is as follows:

Monday, Tuesday, and Friday Collections: These will remain unchanged. Residents with regular pickups on these days should follow their usual routine.

Thursday Collection: Garbage usually collected on Thursday will be picked up earlier, on Wednesday, November 22, 2023. Residents are advised to have their garbage ready for collection accordingly.

No Bulk Collections: There will be no bulk garbage collections during the week of Thanksgiving. Residents planning large disposals should adjust their schedules accordingly.

The Solid Waste Office will be closed on both Thursday and Friday. Residents requiring additional information or needing to make special requests during this period can contact the Solid Waste Office at (318) 673-6300.

Furthermore, the Woolworth Road Landfill will also observe the Thanksgiving holiday. The landfill will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2023, but will resume operations on Friday, November 24, 2023. For more details about the landfill schedule or services, residents can contact 318-925-3500.
